Sasawashi is made from kumazasa, a variety of bamboo that grows in high elevations of 1,000 meters above sea level. As kumazasa has natural antibacterial and deodorizing properties, as well as protection against UV rays, Sasawashi is particularly well-suited for making summer accessories like a crochet hat or clutch. The water-repellent dyeing process provides waterproofing* and makes it stain-resistant.

*The waterproof effect will gradually fade over time.
